Many people refer to the Stab as a move. However there is much more behind this unappreciated precious jewel. I would compare it to a mushroom, one of the most powerful elements known to man. It can come in many different forms and has tons of different uses like food, medicine, building etc.

The stab is most known for its role in the stab club move where it is used as an illusion to sell power/ bull rush. This makes the offender sit down to absorb contact; as he braces for impact he will raise his hands in exposure. This is when we pull the stab and we club the gained wrist and chop the elbow to beat his hands/punch combo and cancel his power thru his elbow.

It can also be used to regain separation when in trouble or too close. Another use can be to keep separation as we prepare for our counter or transition towards bending the corner toward the QB. It can also be used to check temperature or position mid rush to determine next plan of action during movements. Whether used as an illusion, to create space or check temperature the stab a must have in your bag.
